International Delegation from the Methodist Church visit Umzi

Coinciding with Women’s Day on August 09, the Umzi Wethu hospitality academy welcomed a delegation of 22 women from the Methodist Church in Trinidad and Tobago on Monday, August 08. The ladies were treated to a delicious meal, prepared and served by the newest hospitality students.
The women are journeying around South Africa and Africa to view effective community outreach programmes in the country as part of the 12th World Assembly of the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women.
Umzi Wethu was the only NGO that the group visited in the Eastern Cape, and the women were highly impressed with the project. They left behind a generous cash donation towards the project. “We are very happy to have hosted the ladies from the Methodist Church, and wish them all the best for the upcoming conference,” says Umzi Wethu director of Social Programmes for the Wilderness Foundation, Pinky Kondlo.
The Methodist ladies are on their way to the biennial gathering of the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women, which is taking place in Johannesburg on Wednesday, August 10, 2011.
The conference offers a global network for sharing information on various outreach programmes and activities around the world.
